Mario

Here are a couple of updates about this weekend with Mario.  Mario has a routine he wants to set on some of our girls.  He will use the 9yrs and older master class as an "audition".  If he selects you to be in the routine you will have to pay an additional $50 for choreography on Saturday, so please be prepared.  Please do not audition for the routine if you can't committ Saturday, Sunday & Monday to Mario, and if you do not have the $50 for the choreography.  Please also remember that this will increase your costume fees and your competition fees.  Please do not audition if you cannot pay those fees.  It is unfair for you to take a spot from someone who can committ the time and money if you cannot.  You can still attend the master class without auditioning for the routine.  Just let us know ahead of time that you would like to take the master class, but not be included in the additonal routine.  Please also be aware that just attending the master class does not guarantee you a spot in the routine.  I am unsure of how many students he will be picking for the routine.   We will be offering a boxed lunch and/or dinner from Chick Fil A on Saturday.  I will go pick up the lunches and dinners.  The lunches will be at the studio around 12PM and the dinners around 5PM.  It will be a boxed dinner/lunch with nuggets, fruit cup, and dessert. For a drink you can choose from milk, chocolate milk, or apple juice.  It will be $5 for lunch, or $9 for lunch and dinner.  I need to know by Friday who wants lunches and/or dinners so that I can place the order.  I will not be ordering any extra, so please make sure you let me know by Friday.    If you have not yet paid for your Mario fees you need to do so ASAP.  The payment was due December 14th.  You will not be allowed to attend the practices or master classes if you have not paid NO EXCEPTIONS.  If you would like me to EFT the fees and/or your lunch/dinner please let me know.  You can also pay by credit card at the studio.

IMPORTANT NOTES FROM EDF

*Please make sure and go to Chick-fil-a in Riverdale tomorrow on their opening day!  They are trying to break the record for the biggest opening day.  The owner operator Ryan Dennis has been very good to EDF.  He supported our grand opening in South Ogden at the store and brought free Chick-fil-a.  He also provided food for camp at a very discounted price.  He has also agreed to plan a fundraiser day for us at his store.  Please support the people who support us!!  And besides Chick-fil-a is YUMMY!!    *Mario will be here December 19th & we are so excited!  Here is the tenative schedule for the day: 11AM-12PM master class for 9yrs and under ($10) 12-1PM Single Ladies ($15) 1-2PM I Got it From My Mama ($15) (If you are in either Single Ladies or I Got it From My Mama and you want to take the master class it is $20 for both classes.  If you only do one class they are at the prices above.) 2-3:30PM master class 9yrs and older $20 3:30-we are done (definately by 9PM) Childhood Dreams & Sweet Dreams ($25) (If you are either in Childhood dreams or Sweet Dreams and you want to take the master class it is $35 for both.  There are a few girls who are in I Got it From My Mama and Childhood dreams for them the charge will be $32.50 for both routines.  If they want to add on the 9yrs and older master class it will be $5 more, and they can attend the 9yrs and under master class for free.) Please pack snacks and lunch/dinner.  We will be taking little snack breaks. Mario

Mario will be here on December 19th-December 21st.  He will be doing a couple of master classes and finishing his routines from camp.  If you are in one of his routines please do not plan anything on these days. You will be required to attend his practices to be in his routines. As soon as I know the schedule for I will email it out.  Thanks!!

ATTN XTREME TEAM (again) & NO DANCE OR TUMBLING WED. NOV 25TH

I misunderstood the changes that Misty wanted to make to the schedule.  So...Xtreme teams stay the same (Mon & Tues).  EXCEPT Xtreme Petites.  Xtreme Petites schedule will be Mon. 4:30-6:30PM, Tues. 4:30-7:30PM, & Wed. 4:30-6:30PM.  So sorry for the inconveince!!   **THERE IS NO DANCE OR TUMBLING ON WEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 25TH**

ATTN XTREME TEAMS

We are going to change your classes to Tuesday & Wednesday instead of Monday & Tuesday.  So your Tuesday classes will stay the same, but on Wednesday you will come whatever hours you used to come on Monday.  So if you were 4:30-6:30PM on Monday, now you are 4:30-6:30PM on Wednesday.  This will start this week.  So you will actually come all 3 days this week. **Xtreme Petites will come all 3 days.  They will come 4:30-6:30 on Monday AND on Wednesday & 5:30-8:30 on Tuesday. Please pass this info on to everyone in your class/carpool. Thanks!

NO CHEER OR TUMBLING TODAY

There are no cheer or tumbling classses at the studio today because of fall break.

cheer uniforms

We have decided to have Coleman's make our cheer uniforms.  They will be coming to measure next week.  They will be in the $180-$205 price range.  We MUST have at least $75 down from everyone to order your uniform.  If you have not paid at leat $75 toward your uniform by next week we will NOT order your uniform.

pizza fundraiser

The pizza orders for the pizza fundraiser are due tomorrow Tuesday September 15th.

NO DANCE TODAY

Because we have so many dancers and teachers out sick, we are going to cancel dance today.  Also Misty will not be doing any solo/duo/trio lessons today or tomorrow.  If you were scheduled for today or tomorrow we will get you rescheduled to next week.  Taylon will still be holding his cheer and tumbling classes.

2009 EDF DANCE CAMP

Please remember to wear your team outfit, or all black to camp today.  Camp is 9AM-5PM for the older students, and 11AM-5PM for the younger students.  The showcase is at 5PM today at the studio.   HUT HUT!!

PIZZA FUNDRAISER...& WEAR SNEAKERS FOR HIP HOP AT CAMP...

*I forgot to tell evreryone in my last email make sure you bring sneakers to camp for hip hop!    *We are doing a Tony's pizza fundraiser.  There are order forms at the studio if you want to pick some up.  You need to use one form for each pizza ordered.  The forms will be taped to the top of the box for delivery.  You will sell each pizza for $7.50, and you will pay Tony's $5.50 for each pizza.  Please have everyone write their checks to you and you write one check for the total amount to EDF.  We will pay Tony's, and credit the rest to your account.  The orders are due September 17th and will be delivered September 23rd.  Please make sure you pick up your pizzas on the 23rd because we do not have refrigerator space for them and they will go bad!  We need to sell a minimum of 50 pizzas as a studio, or we can't do this fundraiser.  AS ALWAYS THIS FUNDRAISER IS FOR DANCE AND CHEER STUDENTS.   HUT HUT!!

IMPORTANT NOTES FROM EDF

*Because it is only the Company kids who dance on Wednesday, and because they don't really ever get breaks, they are really tired by 8:30.  So, for now we are going to end dance at 8:30PM on Wednesdays.   *Please remember the final payment for camp is due today.  Camp must be paid for in full or you can't attend.  Please do not send your child to camp if you have not paid.  They will not be allowed to participate. If you want to compete in a hip hop routine, you must attend camp.  However, just because you attend camp, it does not mean you WILL be put in a hip hop routine.  Mario is coming prepared with 4 hip hop routines.  He will place students by age and ability.  It is possible that he may not place every student. Camp will be 4:30-9PM Friday, 9AM-4PM on Saturday, and 9AM-5PM on Monday for all students EXCEPT Elite Tots, Elite Tinys, and Xtreme Minis.  The hours for them are Friday 4:30-7:30PM, and Monday 12-5PM.  There will be a showcase Monday at 5PM at the studio.  We are also having a pool party at the Cashmores on Saturday 4:30-6:30PM.  Please bring your own towels.  There will be a barbequer available if you would like to bring your own meat, plates, forks, etc.  We would also like everyone to bring something to share.  Elite Tots/Tinys & Xtreme Minis-chips, Xtreme Petites/Juniors/Seniors-drinks, Company-dessert.   HUT HUT!!

DANCE CAMP

Please remember the $90 deposit for dance camp is due today, and the balance is due on September 2nd.  Dance camp is Friday September 4th 4:30-9PM, Saturday September 5th 9AM-4PM, and Monday September 7th 9AM-4PM.  Elite Tots, Elite Tinys, and Xtreme Minis who want to compete in hip hop need to attend camp on Friday 4:30-6:45PM and Saturday 9AM-12:30PM.  The fee for their dance camp is $70.  Please remeber dance camp MUST be paid in full by September 2nd, or you will not be allowed to attend.  HUT HUT!

DANCE CAMP

Dance Camp is scheduled for September 4th, 5th and 7th.  Anyone who wants to compete in a hip hop routine MUST attend dance camp.  The fee for camp is $160 for unlimited students and $175 for all the other students.  The fee includes: *3 days of classes in jazz, hip hop, lyrical, ballet, and technique. *Dinner on Friday. *Lunch on Saturday and Monday. *Activities and a craft. *LOADS OF FUN!! We need to pay for airline tickets so we need a deposit of $90 by Wednesday from anyone who is attening camp.  The balance will be due September 2nd.  ANYONE WHO DOES NOT PREPAY FOR CAMP WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO ATTEND.  If you would like me to EFT your deposit please let me know.

NO DANCE TODAY

There is no dance today due to the performance at Talent in the park.  Girls who are performing need to arrive at 7:30PM ready to dance.  If you are not performing today we would love to have you come support the team.  The Ogden Ampitheatre is located on about 25th and Washington next to the jail, where Christmas Village is.  Let me know if you have any questions.  Thanks!!

COSTUMES *We have started ordering our jazz costumes for this year.  However there is only one team that every student has paid for their costume.  We ordered that teams jazz costume.  We are waiting one more week for everyone else to get their $95 in.  After one week we are going to order the rest of the jazz costumes, we will not order a costume for any student who has not paid. CREATOR *We will be performing Creator at the Ogden Ampitheatre on Wednesday August 19th.  We need to be there at 7PM.  Students in this routine please make sure you have all the pieces to your costume.  If something is missing please let me know ASAP!  Also you need to come to dance both Monday and Tuesday to practice. XTREME MINIS & XTREME PETITES *Misty feels it is in both teams best interest if we change your Tuesday schedule a bit.  Xtreme Minis will come from 4:30-6:30PM, Xtreme Petites will come from 5:30-8:30PM. CATI'S BALLET INTENSIVE *Anyone who is interested in Cati's ballet intensive please let me know ASAP.  It is August 19, 20 & 21 from 9AM-1PM.  Ashley is going to do a competition ballet dance for us this year, only the students who attend the intensive will be allowed to compete in the routine.  We are going to have a smaller class size this time so the fee will be $90 for EDF unlimited students, $110 for EDF students, and $130 for everyone else. SOLOS Misty is ready to start solos.  She will start the first group on Thursday August 20th.  Solos/duos/trios will only be started only if they have been paid in full.  Solos are $300 for choreography and 4 lessons and $40 for music.  THE FULL $340 MUST BE PAID BEFORE SOLOS/DUOS/TRIOS WILL BE STARTED. CHEER UNIFORMS *Cheer students will be measured for their cheer uniform on Thursday during practice.  If for some reason you will not be there please let me know ASAP!!DANCE CAMP *Please mark your calanders for dance camp Sept. 4, 5, & 7.  Dance camp will be somewhere between $160 and $200 per person.  We are still trying to finalize the choreographers, so I don't have an exact fee yet.  Anyone who wants to compete in a hip hop routine this year MUST attend dance camp. Cati's ballet intensive

We are so very lucky to have Cati Snarr back for another ballet intensive!  It is so hard to get time with her because she is so wonderful and so busy!!  All of you who took the last intensive know that all of her classes are well worth your time and money!!!  The intensive will be Wednesday August 19th thru Friday August 20th.  9AM to 1PM all three days.  This intensive is STRONGLY suggested for all company dancers, but anyone who is 9 or older is welcome.  If you are on pointe or want to be on pointe this intensive is REQUIRED.  The fee for the intensive is $80 for unlimited EDF students, $100 for EDF students, and $120 for everyone else.  The money is due by Monday August 17th.  If we do not have enough students signed up we will either raise the cost, or cancel the intensive.  If you plan to attend please let me know ASAP.  Thanks!  HUT HUT!!

Rhinestones for travel suits

The rhinestones for the travel suits are here!  I have rhinestoned my girls jackets and they are so cute!  I just scattered them on the words and it cost me $35 a jacket.  Whoever is interested can bring their jacket in and I will do it for you, or I can just sell you the rhinestones if you want to do it yourself.  Let me know!!  HUT HUT!

DANCE YOUR A$$ OFF!

DANCE YOUR A$$ OFF!! EDF is having a dance your a$$ off competition beginning in August.  The fee to enter the contest is $25 and the winning team gets all the cash.  Winning is based on percentage of weight loss and dance scores.  We will have some guest dance teachers/choreographers helping us out.  Come to the adult class on Tuesday's from 7-8PM to learn the routine.  You can buy a $20 punch pass for 5 adult classes, or just pay $5 a class.  If you are interested please turn your money in by July 30th.  Come join in the fun and "Dance You a$$ Off"!!  HUT HUT!!

TUMBLING

THERE WILL NOT BE ANY TUMBLING CLASSES JULY 28TH AND 29TH.  OUR TUMBLING COACHES WILL BE OUT OF TOWN.  MAKE UP CLASSES WILL BE HELD ON THURSDAY JULY 23RD 10AM-12PM AND 5-7PM.

EDF dance camp

We have run into some issues with choreographers for dance camp which is going to require us to change the date.  We are now looking at September 4th, 5th, and 7th.  If anyone has any major conflicts with this date please let me know ASAP.  I can not guarantee that I will change the date, but I will see what I can do.

travel suits

I am ordering swarovski crystals to put on my girls travel suits.  Please let me know before July 9 if you would like me to put crystals on your travel suits so that I can order enough crystals.  The crystals range in price from 8 to 25 cents a piece depending on size and color.  I am going to use 4 different sizes in crystal, black, and red.  I think it will cost about $40 a travel suit, but I am not sure.    Also, if you don't have a travel suit and you need to order one please let me know by July 9th so that I can get yours ordered.  Thanks!   HUT HUT!

EDF COSTUME FEES

The fee ($95) for your jazz costume is due July 2nd.  If anyone wants me to include this amount in their EFT please let me know ASAP.  All teams will do at least one jazz routine, so this fee is due from every student who plans to compete this year.  If you have any questions or concerns please let me know.  Thanks!   Hut Hut!

Tre Barber is coming Saturday June 27th 7-8:30PM to teach a master class.  Anyone 8yrs and older is welcome, so bring your friends.  This class is strongly suggested for all Company kids.  The fee is $15 for EDF unlimited students, $20 for EDF students, & $25 for everyone else.  Please have your money turned in by Thursday.  If there are not enough students paid we may cancel the class, or increase the fee.    Cati's ballet intensive is scheduled for July 28, 29, & 30.  Tuesday and Thursday will be from 9AM-1PM.  Wednesday will be from 1-5PM.  You must be 8 years or older to attend.  (If your student is under 8yrs. and you are interested in a ballet intensive please let me know ASAP.  If there is enough interest, I will get one scheduled for them.)  It is strongly suggested for all Company students.  Please remember if you would like to be considered for pointe you are required to attend the intensive.  The fee is $80 for EDF unlimited students, $100 for EDF students, & $120 for everyone else.  Please have your money turned in by Monday July 13th.  If there are not enough students paid we may cancel the class, or increase the fee.   We are ready to buy plane tickets for our choreographers coming to dance camp.  Before we do I just want to let everyone know the dates we are planning.  If there is a serious conflict for your student please let me know.  I can't promise that I will change the date, but I will do what I can.  The dates we have chosen are August 20, 21, & 22.   Hut hut!!

*SUMMER ATTENDANCE* We have had many calls, texts, and emails from parents, students and teachers regarding summer attendance at dance.  We realize summer is a busy time full of family fun, but we do have to require some attendance in the summer to make it fair to all dancers, parents, and teachers.  Summer is an important time where the dancers can focus on technique and skills and not so much on competition routines.  It is not fair for the dancers who attend and improve their technique and master some skills to then have to be on a team with dancers who took the summer off and did not master those same skills.  We will be taking roll everyday,  and it is required that company kids attend AT LEAST Monday or Wednesday and one ballet class a week in the summer.  Xtreme dancers must attend AT LEAST one day a week of their classes in the summer.  Of course we would like to see all the dancers in all their classes over the summer, but we know that many of you have fun family things planned and we understand.  If you have a vacation planned that will require your dancer to miss a week or more of dance please call the studio and let us know ASAP.  As parents Misty and I both do our best to make sure that our own girls attend as much class as possible during the summer.  If you don't feel like you are able to commit during the summer, please let Misty or I know and we can move your dancer to a different team.  Thanks for understanding and respecting our attendance policy.  If you have any questions or concerns please let me know. *BALLET INTENSIVES/POINTE* Cati is coming to EDF to teach a ballet intensive.  (dates and fee info is coming)  If you want to be considered for pointe, you MUST attend the ballet intensive.  Keep in mind that just because you attend it does not mean you will be put on pointe, but you must attend to be evaluated by Cati.  She will decide who is ready and will let us know.  Her decisions are final. *TEAM OUTFITS* I will be placing the order for team out fits on June 25th.  Team outfits are not required, but are highly recommended.  It is always nice to have an outfit that the entire team has to use for basketball games or other performance opportunities.  It is also handy in costumes in case we need to add a shirt or shorts (as we saw in last years costumes).  Team costumes will be $57.50 for black sequin top and black hot shorts.  They come in sizes 4-6, 6x-7, 8-10, 12-14, XS, S, M, L, XL.  They have to be paid for by June 25th or they will not be ordered.  If you have any questions let me know.  Thanks!

EDF SUMMER SCHEDULE

Here is a copy of the summer schedule.  If you have any questions or concerns please let me know ASAP.  As always if your dancer made a team that is too high of a commitment level for you, let me know and we will move them to a more appropriate team. The summer tumbling schedule is Tuesday & Wednesday 10AM-12PM & 5-7PM.  If you didn't attend in May and would still like to it will be $100 for June, July, and August.  Tuition for tumbling is not included in dance tuition.  It is an additional fee. cheer tryouts

Don't forget cheer tryouts are tomorrow at 10AM.  The audition/registration fee for cheer is $15.  If you already paid an audition/registration fee for an EDF dance team we will reduce you fee to $5.  If you bring a new student with you to auditions your fee is waved.  Auditions will be about 2 hours long.  Teams will practice one and a half hours a week and tuition will be $30 per month.  If you have any questions please let me know.  Thanks!

TAGGED: BEWARE!

Hello all!  Today I am being swamped with messages from a "social networking" site named Tagged.com.  This site is a known spam site at best.  At worst, they could do some real damage.  They make out like they are above board (owner is a Harvard grad they say...  SO??).  However, their privacy policy has a lot of holes in it.  Also, they ask you for your email account password.  If you give them the password they will read all your contacts and send them invites on your behalf.  If you sign up then they will make all your constacts friends....  It goes on.  Think!  If they have your email password then they can log on and read your email.  Do you have "sent mail" with account and credit card info?  Guess what!  If you signed up PLEASE change your email password.

Audition results

Here are the results you have all been waiting for.  Please know that ALOT of thought, care, and concern went into all the team placements.  Audtitions are always hard because we love all the girls and the parents at EDF.  The team placements were based off of what was best for each individual dancer and also what is best for our EDF team.  Age, ability, height, maturity, personality,  etc were all taken into consideration and we think we have formed some amazingly talented teams. Over the summer Misty and the other teachers will be watching the teams closely.  If it is necessary to make adjustments in any of the teams they will do so in the summer.  Please be patient and allow the teachers the time to see how all of dancers work together on their teams.  Please respect and trust in the choices that we have made. EDF team auditions

We are moving our team auditions to June 3rd.  We will continue with the current schedule until that day.  Auditions for 3-9yrs are 4:30-6:30PM.  Auditions for 10yrs and older are 4:30-9PM.  Audition fee is $25.  Bring a new student to audition and we will wave your audition fee.  If you are planning to audition for a team your fee needs to be paid by May 27th.  If you have any questions please let me know.

Little Ceasars fund raiser

ballet classes during clinics

Ballet classes will held on Tuesdays and Thursdays during clinics.  Becasue you will be running there from other classes you don't have to wear a leo and tights.  But, you have to wear bootie shorts and a tight tank or sports bra and ballet shoes.

Memorial Day

We are NOT going to dance on Memorial Day.  Instead we are going to have a long dance day the Thursday before Memorial Day.  Xtreme team will dance 4:30-8:30PM & Company will dance 4:30-9PM.  Let me know if you have any questions!

We have had a huge response to the summer tumbling program.  So we are going to add hours and we are also going to start summer tumbling on May 5th instead of May 12th.  Summer tumbling hours will now be Tuesday and Wednesday 4:30-7:30PM in May.  If you have any questions please let me know.  Thanks!

May clinics & summer tumbling
